ColorVu Technology: How Full-Colour Night Imaging Works

Traditional security cameras switch to black-and-white once light levels drop at night, losing important detail such as clothing colour or a vehicle's paint colour. The ColorVu line combines a wide-aperture lens with a large-pixel sensor to produce colour images in very low light; some models add supplemental white LED lighting for extra support.

In an island like Malta, where night-time activity and tourism keep many areas busy after dark — from restaurant fronts to marina surroundings — colour night footage matters because it preserves distinguishing details, like a number plate or clothing colour, at the moment they matter most.

At Securetech, we recommend the ColorVu line for car parks, site entrances, and shop exteriors, particularly where night-time footfall is high. The right model depends on the width of the area, existing lighting, and mounting height — get in touch and we'll help you choose.
